My spotting stories
Morgan 3-Wheeler
Once upon a time in the Swiss Alps, I spotted this unique vehicle — the Morgan 3-Wheeler. This British roadster from the Morgan Motor Company revives the brand's early 1900s cyclecar heritage. The modern version, produced from 2012 to 2021, features a V‑twin engine and handcrafted bodywork with fully exposed rear wheel. Only about 2,500 were ever built, making it one of the rarest sights on any road.
Ford Mustang Fastback
At a car show in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, I came across this 1960s Ford Mustang set against a stunning mountain backdrop. It's a classic fastback coupe produced in the USA. More than a million first‑generation Mustangs were built between 1964 and 1973, revolutionizing the pony car segment with their long hood, short deck, and available V8 power.
Nekaf M38A1 Jeep
This classic belongs to a close family member. It's a Dutch‑assembled version of the Willys M38A1 military jeep, built between 1955 and 1963 by Nederlandse Kaiser‑Frazer (NEKAF) in Rotterdam. It features unique Dutch modifications including side reflectors and turn signals. Around 7,500 Nekaf jeeps were produced for the Royal Netherlands Army and served for over 40 years until the 1990s.
Fendt Fix 2 Tractor
Name This Car can identify more than just cars. This fine example is a Fendt Fix 2 FL120 — an early postwar German classic produced from 1959 to 1962 in Marktoberdorf, Bavaria. It sports the trademark green body and red wheels that Fendt became known for, with a 38hp MWM diesel engine and live PTO. Spotted in rural Groningen, it was in remarkable original condition.
